No, the term leather only applies to materials made from animal skin. Eori® a biomaterial that is engineered to looks and feels very similar to animal based leather while it’s made primarily from cellulose, which can be obtained from wood, agricultural waste, and even from used cotton t-shirts.
Eori® Bio Leather is available in thickness ranging from 0.8mm to 1.4mm. Eori® sampling sheets are available in 4 square foot sizes, while commercial sheets will be available in 1 square meter sizes.

Depending on the variants, Eori® is 98 to 100% bio-based. In certain variants, up to 2 percent of non-biodegradable content may be added to achieve specific surface characteristics requested by the customer however this is totally optional.
